A Girl with a Dream can Change the World. Let’s Uplift Every Girl’s Aspiration

NTECL Vallur inaugurated Girl Empowerment Mission (GEM-2024), an NTPC CSR initiative, on 2nd May 2024 at Community Hall, NTECL Township. Girl Empowerment Mission is an NTPC CSR initiative under which a 4-week workshop is organized for Girl Child of 10-12 years of age of nearby schools. The GEM Workshop is being held at NTECL for the third consecutive year.

Under the leadership of Shri A.K.Manohar, CEO, NTECL, NTECL embarks on this ambitious journey of GEM 2024.Over 40 students from PUMS Vellivoyal Chavadi, PUM School Athipattu Reddypalayam, PUPS Athipattu, and MPUMS Athipattu Pudhunagar will attend this one-month GEM program. Scheduled from 2nd May to 1st June 2024, GEM 2024 is designed to deliver comprehensive and multidimensional growth to the participating students.

Girl Empowerment Mission Workshop 2024 (GEM) was inaugurated by A.Jayalakshmi, IPS, Deputy Commissioner of Police in the presence of Shri A K Manohar, CEO-NTECL, and Smt. Shanti Manohar, President of Deepa Jyothi Ladies Club (DJLC), Shri Satyanarayana, CGM (O&M), Smt. Srilakshmi, Vice President of DJLC and other Senior members.

In her inaugural speech Chief Guest A. Jayalakshmi, IPS (DSP) Traffic, Avadi Police Commissionerate addressed the students and wished the students a pinnacle of success for their education. The students, teachers, parents, and team from Bennett Coleman were also present at the ceremony.

Under the gudiance of Smt. Shanti Manohar, President (DJLC), the members of the club actively participated to conduct the workshop and showed enormous support for the welfare of young girl children.

The GEM 2024 focuses on empowering young girls through various interventions and aims to identify and nurture their leadership qualities. The workshop focuses on health, hygiene, safety, fitness, sports and yoga. NTECL Vallur is committed to providing a platform for the development and empowerment of young girls, thereby contributing to the overall societal upliftment.
